The LWOLAP Code

Thanks to Nina from Raymondforest, I found out many interesting things about the themesong of Lethal Weapons Of Love And Passion. This reminds me of the movie 'The Da Vinci Code'. I forgot what the technique Robert used was called, the one where you pick out letters from a messy group of words and then form a complete sentence. Yeah, you can do that to the LWOLAP themesong too, it is pretty cool...

Title: 出鞘 (the verb used to describe the sword coming out of the sheath)

Sung by: Raymond Lam

Series: Lethal weapons Of Love And Passion

Lyrics:

Description:(Nina's)

1) Look at the black bolded words. Notice how many times the words "覆雨" appears? That is the name of the rain-ceasing sword, Raymond's sword...
2) Look at the two words in light blue, they make up to sound like "梦瑶", which is Charmaine's name in the series. (Djfrostbite: AND notice where do this two characters appear? It appears in the line which says "Wishing to put down my sword to live my way, want to pursue my dream but the price is too high". The 'dream' refers to Raymond's dream to be with Charmaine...)

3) Look at the green words and 云。 Aren't those Raymond and Sonjia's names?

4) This line "纵是渴望逍遥走我路抛去稀世的剑谱 要逐我梦竞令天震怒代价太高 " best describes the inner heart of Fung Hang Lit.

5) This line "手 轻按刀上 无奈各背负了那不变立场 尽了千杯了恩义 既是男儿绝对未退让" best describes the relationship between Fung Hang Lit and Hon Pak. Translation: "Put your hand softly on the knife, unfortunately we have a stand which can never change. After a thousand toasts of wine, being heroes, will not give in"

Djfrostbite's personal favourite lines:

1) The last line 仇人为什么变知己 Meaning=enemies to best friends. In the series: Pong Ban and Fung Hang Lit

2) 浮云共暴雨汹涌 变幻起 Meaning: Floating cloud plus stormy rain surging, drastic changes occur. In the series: cloud represents Bosco's blade, rain represents Raymond's sword. They meet and fight together, to see who gets the throne. Very nicely phrased line (:

3) 纵是渴望逍遥走我路抛去稀世的剑谱 No need to explain more (:

4) 情和义 不忍舍弃红颜美梦话不尽 Meaning: Love and righteousness, can't bear to give up. Dreams about my woman, can't describe

ooo It's cool to realise that the lyrics of this song was tailor-made for the story of LWOLAP, and for Raymond's character. I hope my translations weren't too horrid!

No more face to fate updates??

I don't know how to put this, but my 'journey' to watching face to fate is full of 'obstacles'. For perhaps 3-4 weeks, I cannot watch the leftover episodes of FTF. Argh this is really frustrating. Sorry all fans, do continue to support djfrostbite's blog! :(:(:(

~mood=upset

Just when I was really upset over FTF and wandering around the web, I found some interesting stuff in Sehseh's blog. That cheered me up a little---- the costume fitting pictures of THE CHANGING TIMES!!! A grand production, with Raymond being the first lead, this is the day me and all Raymond fans are waiting for. And it is easy for me to link this with My Favourite Actor Award 2007. ~.~ I know it is WAY too early, but can't help it. Hehe... For more information, read here:
http://idlemindsehseh.blogspot.com/2006/09/changing-times-press-conference.html

Anyway, for my blog, I'll switch back to the theme-song and random reviews stuff for now. I hope my blog readers will continue to support me. I know it is really awful to do things halfway, and leave it hanging there (I'm talking about my FTF screenies) but please forgive me. Hope you will continue enjoying djfrostbite's entries. (:

Starting all over again

A computer virus, now, my computer is totally empty. Most of my things are gone now. My homework, my photographs, my songs, my RAY stuff (most importantly ~.~) Fortunately, I managed to back-up some stuff in time. Basically now, I have to start all over again. But it might be a good thing after all. I love the neat look of my desktop now. Hehe...

Face To Fate Episode 12

Raymond's hair falling *gasp*
Tavia changes opinion about Frankie (finally ~.~)
Hehe...
Raymond is leaving. Aww poor Siu San!
Derek's cool appearance. I like his name, and also his nickname, "nine-lives assasin".
Stupid Nancy! I really wonder why will Derek like her later on

mad Raymond, a little too mad?

Recently a new fan of...

Fred Cheng:
I have seen Fred in 3 series so far. He was the funny monitor in Shine On You, Moses' servant in The Gentle Crackdown, and most recently,Yoyo's brother in Forensic Heroes. (I missed Love Bond, so I didn't get to catch him in there)After Forensic Heroes, I finally decided to call myself a 'fan' of Fred. I think he is a newbie, and I seldom love newbies so much. But gosh he is just too cute! I think he has lots of potential, and I hope to see more of him in future. Anyway, anyone care to tell me what is Fred's Chinese name, and also, his age?

Natalie Tong:
I already started liking Natalie since Yummy Yummy. But now, I decided that I like her 'very much'. Hehe. Natalie is like the female version of Fred. Even though she always plays supporting characters, her small appearances are easy to notice, and easy to like.

Frankie Lam:
If you are watching two Frankie series back to back like me (Forensic Heroes and Face To Fate), you'll find that Frankie's charm is quite hard to resist. I used to think that Frankie's performance is boring, but I'm starting to feel his charm more and more. I also realised that Frankie is pretty good at emotional scenes. Frankie doesn't shed 'big' tears. He sheds subtle tears, but it is good enough for me.

Yoyo Mung:
I just realised how pretty Yoyo is, plus, she has this unique style of acting, and a unique way of looking at her co-stars. That tired, sad, but beauty look (she did that the most in The W Files, not so much in Forensic Heores, because she is the strong type in FH). Anyway, I love that look,I love her hair, I love her dress sense. And is it just me, Yoyo really looks like Chen Yi Rong, or is it Chen Yi Rong who looks like Yoyo? But Yoyo is prettier obviously...

Face To Fate- Episode 10

Am I the only one who hates this costume??

Gosh below is a really really cute scene. I took some time to capture 3 of my favourite expressions:

Aren't they cute???

Don't worry, Raymond's hair is not white yet. This is from the intermission. Aww *heart break*

Anyway, Nancy's character is getting on my nerves, no matter how much I tell myself not to hate her character. Her character reminds me of 'Kwok Fook' in Return Of The Condor Heroes. Rash, impulsive, childish, stupid... She is not like Tavia. At least Tavia truly cares about the 'kong wu'. She is silly, but she is more lovable. Nancy only cares about her own face, and she spoils everything! Including Joel Chan and Tavia's romantic moment... ><

Dashing Raymond

I have no idea what the Bonia fashion show is about, but I happen to find this picture in Sehseh's blog: http://idlemindsehseh.blogspot.com/. (You can find more there)

The picture might look a little small from here, but when you zoom it in, you'll realise oh man, Raymond looks totally dashing. I think these days, Raymond is looking more and more handsome, more and more charming. Same goes to Charmaine, she doesn't look so skinny any more nowadays, very radiant, and very beautiful. This picture made me really high, and really eager to share it, especially because it is Raymond AND Charmaine, my favourite tvb actor and actress. BUT it would be perfect if they were looking AT the camera, and if their eyes didn't look so weird. I think it's the light problem, Charmaine's eyes seem to be red...

Face To Fate- Episode 9

After yet ANOTHER three days, I'm finally back with more FTF screen caps. If you are wondering why i'm taking so long to update my blog, sadly, that is because my term break is over, and I've been reaching home so late every day. *Yawns* However, I still want to share my wonderful screenies with you guys (((:
So Tavia's 'sum seung yan' is the 2nd senior Yip Chor Sum. *Clap*
And the old guy living together with Raymond is his BROTHER. The thing about his aging disease is revealed. Though they didn't say that Raymond has the disease as well, but by now, I think everyone knows it already (:
Raymond realises that Frankie really treasures him as a friend. That was quite a, erm, 'touching' moment, I don't know how you call it, but it just makes me like the relationship between Frankie and Raymond even better.
Raymond finally decides to betray the 'tin yuk gung' to help Frankie and gang
as a result, getting injured...
Hehe, this scene is so cute
"I have little friends and many enemies. When I got injured, the first place I thought of was here" Aww...
Selena's mother in law. Gosh why must this actress be in this series??? I hate this actress! But she is every where, and she is always in the series I like: TCTU, LWOLAP, WOIL and MANY MORE. That destroys everything!
Anyway, the second martial arts expert appears. However, he doesn't care about fighting. He just wants to live long. I find him quite funny...

Face To Fate- Episode 8

After many days of delay (very sorry!) , I can finally post up more FTF screen captures. Anyway, I couldn't really find any worth capturing moments in episode 8 except the Ray-Selena scenes. (Omg, the part about Bak Ching Xu and Kong Bik Ling's love story was really lousy!)

"I will not forget to show you my gratitude. Tonight, when you go back to your room, you will understand..."
I love how Selena plays with thing on Raymond's hair, hehe ~.~

The surprise turns out to be nothing more than a sewn sleeve (That guy who wanted to stab Raymond made the hole)
Raymond: (to Selena) Your husband is leaving
(to Siu San) Your father is leaving
Hehe ~.~
Anyway, I find Chan San Chung's character quite a nice guy
A random handsome picture of Raymond. He is going to kill Frankie, oh no...

La Femme Desperado Review

Djfrostbite proudly presents her next review, La Femme Desperado! Enjoy reading! Spent quite some time and lots of thought to write it. My next aim is the write a review for Face To Fate, but not until I finish the whole series...

La Femme Desperado

Number Of Episodes: 22

Producer: Poon Ka Tak

Cast: Melissa Ng, Sheren Tang, Raymond Lam, Michael Tse, Kate Tsui, Kenneth Ma

Summary

“It’s hard to be a woman”, the title tells you what this series is about simply and clearly. In this series, you’ll see women of different ages, occupations and personalities, each of them facing different problems with their family, love lives, career and the society.

The Women

For various reasons, Hilda (Sheren Teng) lost faith in men absolutely. She believes that women can survive without men. However, beneath the surface of a successful career, Hilda has a lonely heart. No friends, no lover, no family… This triggers her desire to ‘borrow sperms’ for a baby, resorting to many extreme means to do so. In the end, she meets Ah Man (Michael Tse), and also had her very own daughter Hayley. These two people changed her life and her perception of what true family is completely…

Ko Ling (Melissa Ng) is the one who believes in true love, even though she had gone through a failed marriage. However, her journey was a tough one as her true love happened to be Siu Chai (Raymond Lam) who is 7 years younger than her. Ko Ling tries everything to gain her family’s acceptance, she also learns to be stronger, but in her heart, she feels insecure about the relationship, and at a point, found the relationship too hard to sustain…

Besides the two main characters, you will also see many different women. Ida (Kate Tsui) is the young and enthusiastic one, determined to prove her ability. Venus (Jacqueline Law) is the ‘rich wife’ type, who faces many problems with her marriage, and tries everything to cling onto it. Crystal (Cindy Au) is the sophisticated type, hopefully in search of her ideal romance. Melissa’s mother is also an important supporting character you have to take note of. She starts off as a ‘small woman’, but slowly learns to stand on her own. However, she continues to tolerate her ‘chauvinist’ husband because she wants everyone to be happy. Towards the end, you might even start to admire her character.

The Men

Sad to say, even though none of the men here are horrible, you will not find ONE perfect man in the entire series. Perhaps the producers were trying to emphasize how hard it is to be a woman. ~.~

Let’s start with Michael’s character. Ah Man starts off as a cheap jerk everyone hates to the core, but we slowly see the lonely and also warm side of him as the story progresses. As the audience, you might start to love him. However, Ah Man just keeps switching from good to evil, so there is no way you can call him the ‘perfect man’.

Raymond’s character starts off as a total PERFECT man. I was obsessed with Raymond’s character at the beginning because his character was awesome and stylish. However, things started to change after Raymond and Melissa got married. Even though we know that Raymond is really good at handling his work, he is young, his post is low and his salary is low. Having married Melissa, Raymond can’t stay carefree anymore. He tries hard to prove himself, sometimes too hard. Raymond started acting childishly, and doing more and more silly things. At the point where he risks everything just to take revenge at Michael, you will find it pretty hard to forgive. You will keep asking why Raymond became like this. I guess society pressure ruined everything…

Ko Chi Lik (Kenneth Ma) is the most stubborn ‘chauvinist’. For someone his age, the way he discriminates women and all of his rigid mentalities can be really appalling. Perhaps it is due to the influence of his father Uncle Tim (Law Ka Yan). By the way, Law Ka Yan’s chauvinist character can annoy you to death, but, you will still enjoy his great performances. Another character I want to mention is Ko Chi Nung (Lee Ka Ching). He is a little dumb, but diligent, loving and loyal. This guy may be the only one who passes as the ‘perfect man’. Lucky wife…

Love Factors

The ones who can act:

Sheren Teng tops this spot totally with her solid performances. Gosh, her performance was totally awesome and this character seems tailor-made for her! Besides her, Melissa, Raymond and Michael also put up an awesome show. Even the supporting characters like Jacquelin Law and Law Ka Yan aced. These performances brought the series to life, and without them, LFD would not be what it is.

Raymond’s character part one:

Hot, cute, stylish, most importantly, smart. I love it the best when Raymond fought back at Michael to help Melissa. From episodes 1 to 8, you will love Raymond’s character with all your heart… You will also love Raymond’s unique performance, making Siu Chai not just any hot guy, but one with lots of style… ~.~

Melissa and Raymond’s chemistry part one:

Right from the beginning, this was the pairing which got the most attention, because the “older women younger man” thing was pretty much breaking the ‘convention’. However, it is really not hard to accept Raymond and Melissa as a pair, because they were so cute together, and their unique chemistry was rocking ever since they first met at the gym. I loved them together SO MUCH, right until they got married, then things became different... You will not hate them together towards the end, but you will start to miss the beginning times of perfect romance, perfect comedy…

Michael, Sheren + Hayley, the most unique relationship

This is really hard to explain. Hayley is Michael’s daughter, but Sheren doesn’t want Michael to know it. However, Michael still loves Hayley like a real daughter. At the beginning, it is only Hayley, who connects Michael and Sheren, but then the two started falling in love for real. This relationship went through many ups and downs, as Sheren and Michael kept switching from enemies to allies. But anyway, I still love it. This family relationship feels very different, but the love is definitely present…

The sub-theme song:

Kudos to Justin and Miriam, this is the most perfect song for the series!

Dislike Factors

Melissa and Raymond’s chemistry part two:

You see, after Raymond and Melissa got married, their families started putting pressure on them, slowly breaking them apart. Melissa started feeling very insecure, Raymond started doing silly things to prove himself right and to prove others wrong, totally unlike the acts of his ‘smart’ character at the beginning. You can understand why they did that, you will also pity them for the discrimination they face, but sometimes, you will still be annoyed, especially when Melissa kicked Sheren away, and when Raymond paid such a big price just to defeat Michael. And the next thing you know, Ms Cindy Au comes in to be the ‘third factor’. We know Raymond will never love her, but her presence is enough to destroy everything… Nevertheless, don’t blame Raymond, don’t blame Melissa. Blame their families, blame the society, blame the stupid fortune teller, blame Cindy Au, blame Michael…

The story towards the end + the final episode:

Towards the end, the story started getting confusing, and turning around in circles. Besides some emotional scenes (you will see them later), I didn’t really like the last few episodes, especially the LAST episode (which ironically, got the highest ratings). The whole Sheren and her tumour thing was really not needed. The whole Melissa having a baby and Raymond’s so-called ‘plan’ thing was also redundant. I just hoped Raymond and Melissa could get back together for a better reason…

The Chemistry

Overall, the two chemistries which stood out the most were the Raymond-Melissa chemistry and the Sheren-Michael chemistry. You will love them and dislike them for various reasons. If you want to know more, you can scroll up to read my review again (:

Favourite Scenes:

- The office scene where Raymond sings the lullaby for Melissa

- When Raymond tells the story about how he fell in love with Melissa since he was a child, it was really funny, but also sweet. ~.~

- When Melissa tries to ‘seduce’ Raymond, gosh, this was one of the best parts

- When Raymond and Melissa were sheltering under the boat and Raymond said “I didn’t train up just to shelter you from the rain, but to protect you for life”. That was such a ‘beauty’ scene, I just love it!

- Basically, all the scenes with Raymond and Melissa at the beginning. Their chemistry built up perfectly.

- Whenever Michael sings, your heart melts

- When Sheren and Michael played the ‘drinking game’, where they asked each other lots of questions, and found out that they are very similar. As the audience, we also learn a lot about their characters, who they really are, and how lonely they are deep down, kinda emotional…

- At the jetty, after Raymond defeated Michael, Melissa tells her that is not what she wants. Raymond realizes that all he has done was meaningless, and that Melissa was going to leave. Melissa was crying, Raymond’s eyes were red, that was also very emotional…

- In episode 21, when Raymond and Melissa had their ‘final date’. Raymond thought everything was going fine, but Melissa knows that their relationship was not going to work. It was really sad. The way Raymond said ‘I love you’ to Melissa can also melt all our hearts. The next day, they had the saddest break-up, so heartbreaking…

- When Raymond and Melissa reunited at the end, calling each other ‘Daddy’ and ‘Mommy’. I found Raymond’s so-called ‘plan’ stupid, but I still loved the way they got back together, it was so sweet! ~.~

- At the end, when Sheren tried to tell Michael that Hayley was his real daughter, but Michael just couldn’t understand. The look on Sheren’s face was priceless!

The Performance

For the female, I think both Sheren and Melissa did a great job. Sheren’s performance was solid, but Melissa’s performance also gives me a very comfortable feeling. Hence, I want them to share my ‘best actress’ title. As for the newcomer Kate, her acting is not bad, but it just doesn’t feel natural enough sometimes. For the males, Raymond and Michael are the best, Kenneth is about the same. Thankfully, there was not one performance which made me puke. Usually, you will find one or two in each series. Hehe…

Worth watching?

Of course! Women, men, young or old, different people will gain different things from this series, just don’t expect too much from the ending…

Face To Fate- Episode 7

3 classic lines from Raymond and Selena:

Raymond: 你怎么知道是我?
(How do you know that it is me following you?)
Selena: 赖公子臭名远播,你那股臭男人味,很容易将你出卖
(Your 'stench of man' has betrayed you)

Trust me, it sounds way better than I translate it >< Raymond: 我对女人很容易动情,也很容易动怒
(It is easy for me to fall in love with women, but also easy for me to be mad at them)

Raymond: 我赖药儿生性风流,见一个爱一个,见两个爱一双
(I see one, I like one; I see two, I like a pair)

Now I realise how bad I am at translating!

Face To Fate- Episode 6 + extra trailer

Voila...

Frankie: One day if we have a battle, it would be a tough fight
Does that foreshadow the ending of the series?

Frankie and Tavia
Raymond likes to flirt with Tavia so much...
A cute stare between Frankie and Tavia, Tavia's expression is so cute!
This is Selena's stepson "Siu San". He is very cute, and he has a cool character ~.~
You see, Raymond likes him already, because both their characters are equally weird. ~.~ I just love the way Raymond points at Siu San and said 'this is the kind of character i like'. It was so cute! Anyway, in the original novel, Raymond's character eventually died to save this boy. *Aww* But TVB likes to jumble the whole story up, so Raymond's destiny is still a mystery. Hehe...
Beauty bride, so who is the 'sweetheart' Tavia is talking about? I guess it is Yip Chor Sun, the 2nd senior
*Gasps*

Anyway, I just found a new trailer for Face To Fate. 1:54 minutes long, very interesting (:

Digressing?

Since the release of Face To Fate, my blog has become a "face to face blog" instead of a 'themesong' blog. I wonder if this is considered digressing because I don't feel like a 'DJ' anymore. Hehe. But it might not be a bad thing after all, because that means I won't run out of songs to recommend too soon...

Actually, I have been wanting to do an entry for the themesong of Face To Fate. That way, I have the best of both worlds. (: I found that song strange at first, but slowly, the chorus gets into me, and chants at my brain non-stop. Not only that, if you pay close attention to the lyrics, it is actually really interesting. I can't say this is an awesome song, but it is a very interesting song, and Raymond singing is just makes it more special ~.~ But I guess I won't do this entry yet, until I find a good audio version (hopefully the full version) of the theme song to share.

Face To Fate- Episode 5

Here is a very cute scene between Raymond and Tavia

Raymond uses Tavia to experiment for cure for the poison. Aww that's so mean!

Raymond makes Tavia call him 'husband' and...

to kiss him...
...
Raymond: Forget it, seeing the look on your face, I lost all my interest
Poor Tavia, looks so humiliated
Selena's first appearance, and Raymond seems to like her already. Anyway, I don't like the net-look-alike thing on her head, the same goes for Anne's character.

A bad flirting attempt

Okay, that's all for this episode. Screen-capturing takes a little longer now as my computer is new and I no longer have storm codec. I do it the print screen way, so I have to do all the cropping, resizing blabla. But I'm still happy to do it, because I am very free this week ((((:

The following paragraph might make you feel a little uneasy, especially all FTF fans/watchers, but read it at your own will. I'm just trying to create some suspense, to make my blog more exciting, hehe...

I went pass baidu forum today and found out a very important spoiler about FTF. Hehe, I really didn't want to, but couldn't help it, but now I don't really regret it, because it'll just make me love someone even more. I found out the answer to a question many FTF fans have been worrying about, especially the fans of a certain character. If you think you know what I'm talking about and you think you know what the answer is, yes, you are right. (I think I made it sound obvious enough) Don't be too sad (: For those who are totally clueless of what this paragraph is about, it might be a good thing for you after all, just continue enjoying Face To Fate ((:

I'm feeling so evil

I'll be there with you, cuz you are my friend...
